PRESS RELEASE: [The Colony, Texas] Grandscape, a huge new mixed-used development in The Colony, Texas, has several new tenants to announce. The 25 acres to the west of the Nebraska Furniture Mart-Texas, known as Grandscape West, will consist of service oriented retail, national and regional restaurants and hotels including a Hampton Inn & Suites projected to open 4th quarter of 2015 and a Homewood Suites opening roughly one year later in 2016. The first of the restaurants to open include a Cheddar’s Casual Café opening in the summer of 2015 a Hard Eight BBQ and a local Tex-Mex favorite Mi Cocina, both projected to open early Fall 2015.

“We are thrilled to be opening our flagship 18,000 sf open pit bar-b-que restaurant at Grandscape West,” stated Vicki Nivens of Hard Eight BBQ. “It was an easy decision for us after visiting the existing Nebraska Furniture Mart store in Kansas City, knowing this will be one of the most visited sites in North Dallas when they open their Texas location.”

Grandscape West will also be home to the first Rock & Brews in the state of Texas. Rock & Brews is a unique, family–friendly dining entertainment concept that was co-founded by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS. The restaurant will feature quality American comfort food and one of the area’s largest selections of international and craft beers, an energized rock-inspired environment, and expansive pet friendly patio with state of the art heating and cooling systems.

“We are excited to debut Rock & Brews in Texas at Grandscape, opening during the summer of 2015. We are confident that the Grandscape Rock & Brews will set the stage for expansion in Texas and look forward to becoming a popular local gathering place for families and friends," said Mike Reynolds, CEO of Rock & Brews.

These businesses will be important not only to the local community but also the regional visitors that this development anticipates it will attract. Families traveling from all over the Midwest region will be able to recognize many of the name brands positioned in Grandscape West.

“We anticipate being a destination for many, drawing close to 18 million visitors annually once Grandscape is completely built out. Our focus is on being true to our vision of creating a one-of-a-kind development not only for North Texas, but for the U.S. as well,” stated Jeff Lind, President of Grandscape. “We are very fortunate to have the luxury of patience versus being driven by the normal criteria that most developments must adhere to. Grandscape will be a place that is a joy to visit, with water features and green spaces, with family friendly events, and the best shopping, food and entertainment venues, all of which provide a special experience in DFW.”

Grandscape construction is well underway with infrastructure, internal roadways, and a new $40 million interchange taking shape. One of next areas to be developed will be a 10-acre lake along the Sam Rayburn Tollway, which is one of the many unique amenities of Grandscape. The Boardwalk at Grandscape will feature distinctive, first-in-market, as well as new concept and other top-notch restaurants located on the water, creating a grand entrance into this exceptional development.

"The excitement continues to grow between The Colony, Grandscape and Nebraska Furniture Mart-Texas as we witness the construction progress." stated Joe McCourry, Mayor of The Colony. "As Grandscape evolves, the interest to do business in our community increases; developers are finding that The Colony is the place to be. Residents are excited about this premiere retail and entertainment destination in our city and the opportunities it brings. We truly believe that we are off to a tremendous start with the progress of Grandscape and all that it will continue to bring to The Colony and the surrounding area in the coming years.”
