[Westby, Wis.] LaCrosse Flooring announced the completion of a multi‐stage $2 million dollar expansion that has nearly doubled plant capacity to over 48,000 square feet per day while significantly improving product quality.
According to the company, this expansion includes:
• A complete redesign of the rough mill that allows a single infeed to feed two Cameron optimized gang rip saws. This feeds onto a common outfeed for rip grading and sorting.
• Installation of a new LeaderMac 8 head, opposed head sidematcher that makes flooring to very tight tolerances.
• A redesign of the chop saw to sidematcher line that allows for efficient, accurate, high speed defecting of flooring boards prior to end matching.
• Installation of four Cameron auto-nesters that allow for fast and accurate nesting of flooring.
• A new finished goods warehouse that doubles the space available for storing
inventory and staged orders. This allows the company to ship most orders next day.
