Quick-Step’s strategy

Monday, November 7, 2016

[Dallas] According to Jon England, vice president of independent distribution for Mohawk, North America, innovation and trust have been the foundation for Quick-Step’s long-standing relationships with both distributors and retailers alike.

“It’s a strategic, interactive relationship where we’re trying to put together the best products,” he said, adding that these distributor relationships have had meaningful results — 42 retailers on FCW’s Top 50 Retailer list carry its products.

“We have a terrific working relationship with Quick-Step, from their sales representatives all the way up to the very top,” offered Jeff Striegel, president of Elias Wilf, No. 19 on FCW’s Top 25 Distributors list. “They project a man-to-man, person-to-person relationship that allows us to navigate the market place effectively.”

Quick-Step works with top distributors that possess meaningful relationships with retailers. The manufacturer’s ultimate goal is to set its distributors up for success with great products, excellent customer service, effective merchandising and good relationships, said England.

“When you look at success in a marketplace, number one, it’s built on trust. Retailers in our markets rely on us to choose the right distributor partners. There’s a trust level that our distributors have with those retailers as well as a trust level those retailers have with Quick-Step,” said England. “Distributors are bringing the retailers fashion-forward products that hit the market because they have the right support behind them.”

Known for its design-oriented products, the brand works with international designers worldwide, sharing ideas and analyzing fashion trends.

“Quick-Step produces products that are on the cutting-edge; with the colors, widths, sheen and textures that homeowners and designers desire,” said Ben Cartwright, sales manager, Cartwright Distributing. “Long respected as one of the industry’s most recognized brand names, Quick-Step brings professionalism and credibility to any specialty flooring retailer. They lead the way with game changing laminate flooring innovation — a step ahead of the big box competition.”
