Välinge majority owner Pervanovo acquires Tehnodrvo

Thursday, August 25, 2016

[Viken, Sweden] Pervanovo Invest AB, the majority owner of Välinge, announced it has acquired all shares of the Croatian wood processing company Tehnodrvo. The cooperation will enable Välinge to secure supply of high-quality veneer for its Woodura technology and Tehnodrvo to implement 5G fold down in its parquet flooring products.

“I believe that the extraordinary quality of the widely known Slavonic oak offers major opportunities and I hope that the acquisition of Tehnodrvo will be as successful as all our other investments in property and tourist business in Dubrovnik that we have made during the past 12 years,” said Darko Pervan, chairman of Pervanovo Invest AB.

Tehnodrvo today has two production sites in Croatia -- one in Ogulin and one in Bjelovar -- which both have long-term wood concessions comprising large volumes of high-quality oak. Pervanovo’s intentions with the acquisition are to increase the production of oak lamellas for high-quality one-strip parquet floorings and to invest in a new veneer factory to secure sufficient quantities of high-quality oak veneer. The oak veneer will be used for the Välinge powder-based Woodura flooring products that are anticipated to show a very high growth rate during the forthcoming years.

“There is a growing interest for our Woodura technology. High-quality oak veneer adapted for flooring applications is an important raw material. The cooperation with Tehnodrvo also opens up the possibility for Välinge to supply veneer to our licensees together with powder and know-how,” said Niclas Håkansson, CEO of Välinge Group.

Another part of the collaboration is to upgrade Tehnodrvo’s present parquet floors with advanced 5G fold down locking systems and a new lamella core based on Välinge technology.
