Conklin Bros. celebrates 50 years in San Jose

[San Jose, Calif.] Conklin Bros., a floor covering specialty retail business with three stores, is celebrating more than 50 years in business at its San Jose location. Since opening for business in 1963, the San Jose Conklin Bros. store has been committed to both its customers and the community, according to Craig Nourie, company vice president and COO.

The Oderio family first opened the San Jose location 51 years ago. Oderio grew up in the business and has worked in just about every capacity over the years, including installation, sales and customer care. In addition to living up to its motto "You Can Count On Us," in relation to their clients, the Oderios feel strongly that the local community can also rely on Conklin Bros. for help.

"Conklin Bros. recognizes that staying in business for so many years takes more than just offering a great product. It also takes giving superior customer service and taking a leadership role in the community we serve," a company spokesperson noted, adding that this is why Conklin Bros. has made a commitment to assist community-driven initiatives like Project PEARLS, a Bay Area-based initiative to help Filipinos living in the slums of Manila and elsewhere move into more dignified living circumstances.

In 2013, Conklin Bros. commitment to the environment led to over 2000 pounds of used carpet being recycled, saving precious space in our landfills. Partnering up with local non-profits like Campus-California, is proof positive that every business can make a difference.
