USG launches USG Durock Brand X2 Primer-Sealer

[Chicago] USG Corporation, a leading building products company, and XL Brands, LLC, the nation’s largest private label floor covering adhesive manufacturer, have partnered to introduce USG Durock Brand X2 Primer-Sealer. The new primer sealer is the first of its kind to provide a 10-year limited system warranty. Together, USG and XL Brands are the only manufacturers to offer such a warranty in the tile and flooring industry, according to USG.

“USG is pleased to partner with XL Brands to offer a new 10-year limited warranty system,” said John Reale, USG general manager, substrates and specialty. “This unprecedented warranty will provide specifiers and architects with options that have not been available before when using self-leveling gypsum underlayments.”

Designed for use directly over USG Levelrock Brand and USG Durock Brand self-leveling gypsum underlayments, USG Durock X2 primer sealers offers the warranty when used in conjunction with any XL Brands manufactured adhesives.

According to USG, the new advances by USG and XL Brands have led to the creation of  this industry-first system that offers a 10-year warranty and allows floor-covering installation over USG Levelrock and USG Durock gypsum underlayments in as little as four hours after USG Durock X2 Primer-Sealer application — saving both time and money on the job.
