[Chicago] Here at the Merchandise Mart, the Armstrong Flooring brand returned to the NeoCon show floor.
“Armstrong is a wonderful brand that means a lot to people. A lot of people build their business on it,” shared Brain Carson, CEO of AHF Products which acquired the brand and certain assets about a year ago.
In fact, Carson started his career 30 years ago with Armstrong in Lancaster. “It’s like coming home,” he told FCW. “It’s a business we knew and thought we could make successful. The bones are good. And in commercial, people want something that works, is a good value, a good product.”
Armstrong brought to AHF what Carson said were great manufacturing facilities. “We thought we would give it a fresh start and come back with new product.” The commercial business, he added, is great. “There has been a resurgence in VCT.”
The company is no stranger to acquisition. In its four-and-a-half year history, AHF has brought L&M, Parterre and American OEM into the fold and integration of the Armstrong brand, Carson noted, has gone well. “The fit of the new team members happened right away.”
