Jason Randolph guides Karastan with purpose & passion

[Calhoun, Ga.] While Jason Randolph, senior vice president of residential sales, Karastan, is quick to note that the re-energizing of Karastan began before he assumed this role, he is credited by some of the brand’s closest partners for giving it the vision and attention resulting in greater sales and strengthened partnerships.

“We cannot speak highly enough about Jason Randolph,” shared Susan Hadinger, CEO of Hadinger Flooring. “Jason is the perfect person to lead Karastan. He understands the brand, has a great vision for where they need to be, and the products are reflecting that. In addition, he is a genuinely great person.”

Randolph assumed his current role in November of 2019. “It’s the best position I’ve had with the company,” he told FCW. “Our retail partners we have and sales team I get to work with, they are the best. All of the success of Karastan is not attributed to me, but our retailers and our sales team. They wake up worried about selling Karastan every day. That singular focus helped us grow Karastan.”

Dave Chambers, director of flooring, Nebraska Furniture Mart, said that Randolph is indeed a great complement to the Karastan brand. “He approaches our business as a collaborative strategic partnership. Jason is very invested in our success and brings innovative ideas to help drive our business,” Chambers offered.

Randolph has been with Mohawk for some 28 years amassing knowledge in diverse areas from calling on national accounts and home centers to several product manager and director roles in both soft and hard surfaces.

“Being here that long has allowed me to navigate and hold a lot of various jobs in the company,” he explained. “The collective experience lets me understand what retail partners need and the capabilities we have.”

That cohesive experience, he added, allows Karastan to push the boundaries of capabilities and give him the credibility to do so. “We can collaboratively decide how to do something. That background in product management gave us things to break through those design plateaus and we continue to push boundaries.”

Bruce Odette, owner, Carpet Exchange, pointed to a number of attributes Randolph brings to the table for Karastan. “His extensive knowledge of fiber and product sets him apart from others in like positions. He has the ability to help design and define beautiful products. That being said, creating unique and different products walks a fine line with what will actually sell to the consumer. Jason has been able to find a balance that provides unique looks and yarns that are also highly popular with consumers.” he said.

Offered Randolph, “I love everything — the people, the products, our sales team. And I just love the excitement and enthusiasm and loyalty that both consumers and retailers have for the brand. For those retailers partnering with Karastan and really driving that, it’s going to allow them to separate and differentiate themselves from the market and drive a trusted brand to their consumers and frankly, make a lot more money.”
