[Dalton] Emily Morrow Finkell, CEO and founder of Emily Morrow Home, partnered with Designers Today magazine and Strathmore Design Center to present a special CEU attended by 50 interior designers. The event, which took place on Nov. 5 at the Strathmore Design Center in Atlanta, was part of a three-day Designer Experience hosted by Designers Today. Exclusively for the design trade, the annual event takes place in different parts of the country and offers accredited educational experiences, professional development opportunities, curated plant tours and the opportunity to cultivate valuable professional relationships.

For the Continuing Education Unit (CEU) event held at Strathmore, Finkell combined two topics into one 2-credit CEU: Sustainability in Hardwood and Designing with Hardwoods – Dos, Don’ts and Trends.

“Designers attending the CEU were extremely impressed with Emily’s knowledge and passion for hardwoods,” said Jane Dagmi, editor-in-chief of Designers Today. “There are not many women who understand the manufacturing side of flooring, much less understand design on the same level as our event attendees. Emily is a rare gem who I always enjoy partnering with to educate designers.”

While attending the CEU, designers were introduced to Michael Phillips, showroom manager of Strathmore Design Center. The family-owned, full-service flooring and cabinet supplier has showrooms in Atlanta; North and Southwest Georgia; Franklin, Tenn.; Raleigh, N.C.; Charlotte, N.C.; and Charleston, S.C. At the Atlanta showroom, located in the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC), designers have access to an extensive range of cabinets and luxury flooring, including Emily Morrow Home hardwoods.

Several of these designers, along with Designers Today’s Jane Dagmi, will be part of a designer panel lunch hosted by Emily Morrow Home and Domotex USA on Feb. 6, 2020.
