Mullican names new director of specialty products

[Johnson City, Tenn.] Mullican Flooring announced today the appointment of industry veteran, Art Layton, to director of specialty products at the company’s headquarters here.

Layton will oversee Axiscore Performance Flooring, a new brand of Stone Polymer Composite-based multi-layered flooring that will be available to distributors in early 2019.

“I am very happy to be working with a great group of people that I have known and admired for years,” said Layton. “The opportunity to be involved with the launch of a new brand and business unit is extremely exciting.”

Most recently as vice president of marketing and resilient business with CMH-Space Flooring, Layton’s experience involves working with independent distributors to develop their import businesses and private brands.

“We are thrilled to have Art included in the development of Axiscor and other new business opportunities,” said Neil Poland, president of Mullican Flooring. “Alongside our director of global procurement, Greg Burleson, Art is already developing some exciting new products and business opportunities. He will be a great asset to the team.”
